Performances: Kafka's "The Vulture"

The Vulture, a 20-minute live highly gestural storytelling performance with sequential illuminated papercuts based on Kafka’s story Der Geier. The performance brought to life the papercuts I had created for the work and previously presented as a video at the National Library of Israel.

In June–July 2026, I presented a six-week solo exhibition of my illuminated papercuts at HaMekarer Art Gallery in Tel Aviv. The exhibition included a series of works based on Kafka’s letters to his father and to Milena, as well as some of the supercuts for The Vulture (Der Geier). The exhibition also included a three-minute video demonstrating my papercutting technique.

In 2024, the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem made an exhibition marking the centenary of Franz Kafka’s death, featuring works by numerous artists. I was the only artist invited to create a new work specifically for the exhibition: a four-minute video based on my illuminated papercut interpretation of Kafka’s The Vulture (Der Geier)
